About Great Glen Crematorium
Great Glen Crematorium is proud to provide exceptional care in a beautiful setting. Ensuring that families can remember, mourn and celebrate the lives of their loved ones in a way that is uniquely personal.
Set in Leicestershire’s countryside just outside the village of Great Glen.
The Crematorium, Natural Burial Ground and Memorial Gardens offer a calm and dignified setting for the final farewell of a loved one.
Great Glen Crematorium is part of the large Westerleigh Group who manage a number of Crematoria.
Great Glen Crematorium Main Chapel
Services are hosted in a modern, comfortable chapel. The light and spacious building, finished in traditional local red-brick, features picture-windows along one side that frame the magnificent views beyond.
Designed to give an intimate feel, the chapel also comfortably seats up to 98 mourners with plenty of standing room. For larger gatherings, external speakers in the lobby and outside the chapel ensure the service can be heard by everyone.
Pooja Hall
For families of Hindu and Sikh faiths, they offer a dedicated Pooja Hall and prayer-room.
This purpose-built space is located just metres from the main chapel and provides privacy for mourners to observe traditions before and after the ceremony. We believe our provision is among the most extensive in the UK for Hindu and Sikh communities.
Includes:
Designated Pooja Hall & prayer room
Open casket viewing
Washing facilities
Footwear storage
Lord Shiva statue
Witnessing the charging of the coffin
Extended service timings
Music and Other Tributes
The chapel features a state-of-the-art media centre. Enabling photo tributes, recordings of the service, web-casting for those who cannot attend and an almost unlimited music library.
At the same time, tradition is honoured with a beautiful Viscount organ. All forms of live music are welcome. The team are happy to provide advice and support.
