Two Chapels to Suit Different Service Sizes

Markeaton Crematorium has two chapels:

• The Main Chapel, which seats up to 98 people

• The Round Chapel, which seats around 40 people

Both spaces offer a comfortable environment with gentle lighting and thoughtful design. Services normally run in hour-long intervals, giving families enough time for arrival, the ceremony itself and quiet departure.

Modern Service and Tribute Options

Families can personalise the service with a wide choice of music, visual tributes and a free photograph displayed on the chapel screen.

Live-streaming and recording options are also available, making it easier for people who cannot attend in person to feel included.

Options are also available for direct / unattended cremation services.

Accessibility and Visitor Comfort

The crematorium is designed to support visitors with different mobility needs.

Step-free access is provided throughout the building, with ramps, level walkways and accessible toilet facilities. A wheelchair can be requested on arrival. Families will also find a comfortable waiting area and clearly marked paths around the site.

Parking is available in the main visitors’ car park and in a smaller car park close to the building for disabled and less mobile visitors.
